明神様をお迎えします。 We'll have the god!

Every year in Kouyasan, some temples have the god who is called Kouya-daimyoujin, conducted Kuukai to Kouyasan.


In this year, we will have the myoujin-sama very soon!
We are preparing for it.


Busy days...


The day after tomorrow, finally we will do it.　


The fusuma-doors had just replaced.
They are very old and valuable husuma-pictures painted by unknown.


It's depicted Sansui-ga (from Chaina, painted mountains and water - rivers, falls and so on).




明後日、明神様をお迎えするにあたり、
準備を進めています。


明神様とは、空海を高野山へ導いたとされる神様でその名も高野大明神、別名狩場明神です。
高野山では、毎年どこかのお寺がこのように明神様をお迎えして、お祀りする習慣があるのです。


襖を入れ替えました。
普段はしまわれて保管されているものです。


一気に風情がただよいます。


中国の風景の山水画だそうです。
作者不明。


噂によると、中国の洞庭湖が描かれているということですが、
定かではありません。


山水画で有名な洞庭湖（とかいって今回調べて知ったんですけどねー）ですが、
水質汚染が深刻らしいです。


洞庭湖に限らず、中国の社会問題でしょうが。。。
（日本の海もそこそこ汚いけどね）


原因は、隣接しているパルプ工場の汚染水。
垂れ流しなんでしょーか。
ですよねー


つい先日観た、パタゴニアの創業者イヴォン・シュイナードの映画、180° Southの中でも
パルプ工場の汚染問題が取り上げられていました。


パルプとかパルプじゃないとかの問題でもないでしょうが、、、


ちなみに、タスマニアの貴重な原生林を伐採してつくったチップを
日本の製紙企業が買いあさって紙にしているのはご存知でしょうか。


わたしも、オーストラリア滞在中に知ったのですが。。。
貴重なユーカリはすでに８０％も失われています。


だいぶ話はそれましたが。。。

Kakejiku-paintings have also replaced.
So many old valuable stuff were stolen before.
So, we don't have any in the room of temple lodging, hehe. :p


掛け軸も、かけなおされたりしています。
昔、いろんなものが盗まれちゃったらしいので、
今は値打ちのあるものはしまってあるそうです。（笑）

彼岸花咲きました。 Red spider lilies have blossomed.

Autumn has come!


Red spider lilies have just blossomed.
They are called `Higan-bana' in Japanese,
Higan - the word `Higan' meaning is `the other shore' in Buddhism, nirvana. 


We have two times of Ohigan in a year, -two periods of seven days with the middle day falling on the spring or autumn equinox.


During ohigan, the spirits of forebears are recalled, Buddhist rites carried out, and family graves are visited.

日中晴れればまだまだ暑い日もありましたが、
暑さ寒さも彼岸まで。


彼岸花。
その名の通り、お彼岸の時期をちゃんとお知らせしてくれる。
不思議ですね。

The read shoots of momiji-maple have also come out after the pruning in the end of the summer.
That let us know turn of the years.

City life can not really show the season's transition.

Japan has moderate changing of the seasons which is amazing.

I'm loving it.

中秋の名月 The harvest moon

In the east, actually in Chaina and in Japan, we enjoy looking up at the fullmoon which is called ` otsukimi '.

We have this custom since very early times, but now, It's based on Chinese style.

We also place offerings - Susuki (Japanese silver grass) and rice dumplings.

昨日は、中秋の名月でした。

お月見の風習は、古くは縄文時代からあったともいわれていますが、

今のスタイルは中国から来たようですね。

中国では、8月の十五夜のみのお祝いとなりますが、

9月にこうしてお月見をするのは日本だけのようです。

西洋では、月は不吉なものとされていましたが、

この薄暗闇を不吉ととるか、

美しいと取るかは感じ方次第なんですものね。

月は、ただそこにあるだけ。

This is a pic of Japanese silver grasses.

It's basically white (silver), however if you do wild-craft very fresh one that unfolded in the morning, you can get red ones!

I have never seen anything like this.

They are taken  from the mountain by the manager here. 

通常、すすきは白いのですが、朝開いたばかりのものは、

このように赤いのだそうです。

執事ぃが朝、山にはいり取ってきたもので、赤いものは初めて見ました。

ここにいると、こうやって初めて見るものがたくさん。

Our manager told us the place where we can see moon rise, so we headed there around the sun set. 

We got Daimon.

We just realized how dark to get the crest, we had nothing, - torch, trainers, anything!

もうずいぶんと登っとるやん！

計算ミスだった。。。
これ、めっちゃいい！

月の出月の入り計算 観測地点での月の出、南中、月の入りの時刻、方位角、高度と正午の月齢を求めます。 だって。ごいすー やっぱり標高も計算に入れないと。

丹生都比売神社 Niutsuhime Shrine

Niutsuhime shrine, has a history spanning about 1,700 years.
It is located in Katsuragi-chou near Kouyasan, it takes 30mins by car.

In 2004, It was designated as a part of a World Heritage site.

The god enshrined is a goddess who is called ` Niutsuhimeno-ookami ',
a sister of Amaterasu-oomikami who is the god of the sun.

She is a symbol of the water.

This shrine is the most closely related to kouyasan.
In the historical old story, Kuukai was in the search of a land for monastery of esoteric Buddhism after he brought it from Chaina,

Takanomikono-oomikami who is a child of Niutsuhimeno-oomikami alchemized himself into a hunter with two dogs, and invite him to kouyasan.

The energy is the most gentle I have ever experienced in the shrines,
I'm sure.

Life is water.

丹生都比売神社は高野山から車で30分くらいのところに位置し、

丹生都比売大神をご祭神とする1300年もの歴史を誇る由緒ある神社で、

世界遺産に登録されています。

以下、ホームページより。

 ご祭神のお名前の「丹」は朱砂の鉱石から採取される朱を意味し、『魏志倭人伝　ぎしわじんでん』には既に古代邪馬台国の時代に丹の山があったことが記載され、その鉱脈のあるところに「丹生」の地名と神社があります。丹生都比売大神は、この地に本拠を置く日本全国の朱砂を支配する一族の祀る女神とされています。全国にある丹生神社は八十八社、丹生都比売大神を祀る神社は百八社、摂末社を入れると百八十社余を数え、当社は、その総本社であります。

日本のルーツ、ここにあり。

丹生都比売神社は、高野山ととても密接な関係にあります。

丹生都比売大神の御子、高野御子大神は、密教の根本道場の地を求めていた弘法大師の前に、黒と白の犬を連れた狩人に化身して現れ、高野山へと導きました。弘法大師は、丹生都比売大神よりご神領である高野山を借受け、山上大伽藍に大神の御社を建て守護神として祀り、真言密教の総本山高野山を開きました。これ以降、古くからの日本人の心にある祖先を大切にし、自然の恵みに感謝する神道の精神が仏教に取り入れられ、神と仏が共存する日本人の宗教観が形成されてゆきました。

今まで訪れた神社の中でもっとも優しい雰囲気の神社で、

包みこまれるような感覚で満たされました。

神主さんもまた、

素敵な方でした。

高野山に立ち寄った際にはぜひ、

足を運んでいただきたいところであります。

高野山では毎年どこかのお寺が、

明神様をお迎えします。

それが今年は、宝城院なのです！

明神様とそのお迎えについては、

また詳しく後日載せるとして。。。

明神様のお迎えにあたり、

畳を張り替えています。

職人の手仕事っす！

お寺の畳は、規格外なので

こうやって手でひとつひとつ仕上げてゆくそうです。

朝顔 Morning Glory ２０１１

It's getting cold in the morning and evening.
It feels like early autumn.
The summer has gone in kouyasan...

執事ぃ（執事＋爺）の朝顔。
きれいでしょ。

お盆過ぎ、
涼しくなります高野山。

朝晩は冷え込む。

朝顔ちゃんたちも、それと同時に終わってゆきます。
儚い夏の風物詩。

お盆前の、元気な朝顔たち。
元気をありがとう。

また来年。

夕顔

Yuugao is very delicate flower. 
It's difficult to produce flowers.


There are several old stories about yuugao.
It's so beautiful, isn't it?



当院の執事が、天塩にかけて育てた夕顔。
ものすごく繊細な花のようで、
ちょっとでも触れると花が落ちてしまう。

咲かすのがとても難しく、
初めて見た、と

当院を訪れた年配の方が驚くほどです。


肥料に、油粕（肥溜めより臭いそう）と石灰を混ぜて、
土を酸性にしないようにするそう。

夕顔を今まで一度もみたことはなかったけど
そんなにめずらしいものとは知らず、
ただただ、

綺麗だな～とのんきにカメラを構えたのがこの写真。
一晩でしぼんでしまう、っていうのも知らなかった。

平安時代からすでに栽培が始まっていたようで、
源氏物語にも登場するようだ。

朝顔もそうだけど、


夕顔やそこはかとなくなつかしけれ

立里荒神 Tateri Koujin Shrine in Yoshino

Homusubinokami is the god of fire.
He is enshrined in the shrine in Yoshino which is called Tateri Koujin.

This shrine is also related to kouyasan.

Amazing vistas there.

はしごでっせ。

 このあたりはちょうど、高野山の鬼門に位置するらしい。
そういうことで、空海はんが火産霊神(ほむすびのかみ)を祀ったという。


陸の孤島のようなところにあっても
火の神様ということで、ホテル・旅館業、飲食業を営む方々のお参りが絶えないという。


わたくしもありがたくお参りさせていただきます。

天川神社のやわらかい雰囲気とはまた違う。
